Getting ready for the arrival of a new baby requires a lot of preparation. But what about preparing siblings with autism for the new arrival? Having an infant in the family often brings about a lot of changes to routines, parent availability, and the general activity levels in the house. This training will provide an overview of steps you can take to prepare your child with autism (and other siblings) to be ready to welcome the new baby. Topics include: teaching appropriate infant interactions, sharing attention, waiting, and coping with all the unfamiliar sounds a new baby brings. The training is ideal for anyone who may be introducing a child with autism to a baby in the near future. This is a great opportunity for parents of children who are about to become siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, and much more.
